The term 'Musical Production' actually covers any performance that contains music and/or the singing voice which provides many opportunities for both amateur and professional musicians and artists.

Many professional entertainers start their career in Musical Theatre and by joining Amateur Drama Groups

Careers

Those who enjoy working on stage can further their careers by taking courses designed to cover all aspects of theatrical performance or audition for semi-professional and commercial productions. Most advertisers in the UK use The Stage.

The Producers 

bertieBertie Brown - Producer

Bertie comes from Bristol where he was a long serving member of the Bristol Musical Comedy Club and was honoured to be made a life member for his services to the club. Bertie has directed and performed in countless productions over the years and his most notable being a waiter in Hello Dolly when the society performed the production at the famous Bristol Hippodrome.

Since forming Theatre 2000 with his partner Paul together they have won numerous awards for their productions.

 

Paul Bower - Producerpaul

Paul also hails from Bristol and was also a member of the Bristol Musical Comedy Club where he played both lead parts and performed in the chorus. He has performed in Mack and Mabel, Call Me Madam, Little Mary Sunshine, The World Goes Round, Chicago, The Rink, Pageant and many “Music Halls”.

Paul has played Albin in ‘La Cage Aux Folles’ three times, in Bristol, at the Mayflower for Southampton Musical Society and the Regent Centre, Christchurch. Production credits include Follies, for which he won “Best Director” in the Daily Echo Curtain Call Awards.

 

AngieAngie Broomfield - Choreographer

Angie started dancing from the age of 4 and at 18 joined Southampton Musical Society. She performed in many shows such as Oklahoma, South Pacific, My Fair Lady, 42nd Street and West Side Story.  Meg in Brigadoon and Laura in Half A Sixpence.  She has also choreographed Irene and Chicago. For seven years she lived in Jersey and became a member of the Jersey Green Room Club, playing the part of Morgan Le Fey in Camelot.  In 1995, Theatre 2000 was formed and her friendship with producers Paul Bower and Bertie Brown began.  She has had great funand pleasure in choreographing all their shows, as well as appearing in a few of them - Nunsense, Cabaret and Stepping Out.
